Planet One Spanish-British CGI

HandMade films are a British company who have produced some excellent British films, particularly in their early years with the Monty Python team. Now they are teaming up with the Madrid-based company Ilion Animation Strudios to create a US$50 million CGI film called Planet One which will be written by the Shrek writer Joe Stillman.

According to Variety the film is set to be directed by Jorge Blanco who they say is the lead artist on the videogame series Commandos. IMDB lists this person as Jorge Blanco Garcia, so I can only presume they mean him rather than the other two possibilities on IMDB.

The film is described as an alien invasion story with a difference, oh yeah? The inhabitants of the Planet One live in a world which is strangely similar to the American suburbia of the 1950's, except these Americans have two antennae and eight fingers. They have drive in movies, picket fences, and a strange fear of alien invasion. Amazingly that comes true when a human astronaut lands on their planet.

Okay, now I've got you, that is a difference, and a difference I like too. Sounds like it could be a lot of fun.
