Saw V and VI for production?

SawIII.jpgAlready I had written about the rumour for Saw IV and V, and we've seen the fourth come true with Darren Lynn Bousman returning to direct, despite saying no. Now we're hearing that the fifth and sixth films have entered the production slate!

According to the comments of a source over at HorrorMovies.ca, the fifth and sixth films have a production schedule.

...no word on any specifics or any kind of confirmation but my connected friend who has been a reliable source on many scoops here tell me 5 and 6 are coming.

Is the quote from Meh over there. You know perhaps I'm not surprised that this is coming, even if it is a complete rumour at the moment, but I am surprised they are racing ahead so quickly. Surely you would line up just one at a time.

Mind you the word is that the fourth is incredibly strong, so perhaps there's room for a few lesser sequels to bleed the audience dry. I'm actually interested in the fourth, but depending on the people behind the fifth and sixth I'm not sure if they will be as good.

More and more sequels. Can you find space in your viewing for the fourth, never mind the fifth and sixth?

The Saw movies will keep coming. They're dirt cheap to make and bring in a nice chunk of change. They're able to pump a new one out every year and whenever Halloween roles around, people always want to see the new horror flick.

You know what the problem with Hollywood is? They make shit. Unbelievable, unremarkable shit' Now I'm not some grungy wannabe filmmaker that's searching for existentialism through a haze of bong smoke or something. No, it's easy to pick apart bad acting, short-sighted directing, and a purely moronic stringing together of words that many of the studios term as prose. No, I'm talking about the lack of realism. Realism; not a pervasive element in today's modern American cinematic vision.
