Sex and the City film has a script?

SexandtheCity.jpgThere seems to actually be movement on a Sex and the City film, with another star of the series talking about the production in a positive light and saying that a script is being written.

Previously we heard the rumour that negotiations were underway (again) for the stars to take part, and then Kim Cattrall said that she was returning to America from her broadway run to positive news on the film. Now we hear that Mario Cantone, who played Anthony Marantino in the series, is saying that the script will be brilliant:

"There's nothing definitive yet," Cantone explains. "I know the script is being written and I know it will be brilliant because Michael Patrick King is writing it. I know that I'm in it. I have a nice part in it, I'm told. If it happens, we should film it in the early fall I think, but I hope it stays on course because I would love to do it."

Michael Patrick King was a writer, executive producer and director on the series. The story comes from Worst Previews who give no source for the story.

You know we keep hearing rumours on this film and nothing ever happens, frankly I think it's only Cattrall that has made anything of her career since the series, everyone else has either release flops or just hasn't done anything comparable. Is there a chance for it? Is there an audience?

The sheer gutlessness of the people who make the decisions of the major Hollywood studios, and I want you to quote me, is terrifying.
