Stalked: Cabin Fever 2 and Get Smart

AlanArkin.jpgTwo pieces of casting rumour for you all. The first is about two stars of the first Cabin Fever returning to Cabin Fever 2 and the second is about Alan Arkin joining the Get Smart film. Just a quick warning here, there's a spoiler being discussed in the Cabin Fever story, so if you haven't seen the first film you might not want to read on.

First up is the strange news that both Rider Strong and Giuseppe Andrews are returning to the second film which is written and directed by Ti West. Andrews, that's okay his character was fine at the end of the first film, but Strong's character was dead, lying by the side of the river bleeding out into it and polluting the drinking water supply. So how is he possibly coming back? Surely they aren't going to pull the prequel thing are they? The story comes from Bloody Disgusting.

Next up is the news from The Hollywood Reporter through Coming Soon, Alan Arkin is joining the Get Smart film, based on the sixties TV show which had a hapless spy protecting the world with the help of his very smart colleague, the one who actually did all the work properly. Arkin is going to play the head of CONTROL, Smart's boss, with Steve Carrell playing Smart himself. Anne Hathaway is playing is assistant, the clever one, and also set to star are the talents of Terrance Stamp and the Rock.

Might turn out to be fun, although it might be a less zany version of Austin Powers.
