Stalked: Ecclestone and Beckinsale casting and Eastwood honoured in France
Christopher Eccleston and Gregory Smith are set to join the cast of The Dark is Rising, a story about a teenage who learns he is in the group that is sworn to fight the forces of darkness. He travels back and forth through time hunting for clues while fighting the dark forces. Smith is playing the boy's older brother, the boy already being played by Alexander Ludwig, and Ecclestone will be playing the villain called The Rider according to The Hollywood Reporter. We already heard about the story, and of the casting of Ian McShane.
Clint Eastwood has been named a knight in the French Legion of Honour for his contribution to world cinema. President Jacques Chirac stated that he represented the best of Hollywood on this side of the Atlantic. According to the story in Yahoo News, Napoleon Bonaparte created the Legion d'Honneur in 1802. It recognizes military, cultural, scientific or social contributions to France, including by people who are not French citizens.
Kate Beckinsale has joined the film Winged Creatures to star alongside Forest Whitaker, Guy Pearce and Dakota Fanning in an adaptation of Roy Freirich's novel about the survivors of brutal murders in a restaurant. The survivors struggle with their own mortality and place in society after the attack and the film traces their paths after the event. The casting announcement comes from Variety.
