Stone talks new Alexander cut in 20 minute video
Oliver Stone's Alexander (Filmstalker review) is getting a final release on DVD, and this one is the film that Stone really wanted to make. It's going to be long, and from the sounds of it pretty seriously recut.
In the main story there's a twenty minute video with Stone introducing an extended clip from the film and explaining some of the reasons behind the new version and what we should expect.
You know when I saw the first Director's Cut on DVD I didn't think it deserved the complete panning it received. There were flaws, sure, but it wasn't a complete disaster that it was made out to be and it was enjoyable.
The clip I have here shows just that. I started watching it in the corner of my screen while I wrote some articles, but during the battle scene I became so absorbed I had to stop what I was doing and watch this instead.
I'm definitely giving this film a go, especially with Stone giving it a new cut, shouldn't you give it a chance too? Have a look at the clip and see what you think.
