Susco distances from Prom Night remake
It must be hard being a writer, and I'm sure Stephen Susco can attest to that. He's was once attached to the remake of the film Prom Night, and now that the script has been reviewed and received pretty negative responses his name is beginning to come up as having written it.
Well here's where the tough part of being a writer comes in, he did write the screenplay, but it was then given to Ernesto Foronda to rewrite and then onto the current writer JS Cardone. Susco has recently read Cardone's script, the one that has been greenlit, and he can report that it's definitely not his:
...not a single word, character, story idea, plot point or line of dialogue from my original PROM NIGHT script has been retained in the version about to be shot.
Are his official words from his official site.
Imagine that, you pour your heart into a script only to see it handed to writer after writer and then rated badly. It certainly is a tough business being a writer. Mind you, when you get a script made, I guess that makes up for the ones that got away.
