The Hidden remake with Mitchell and McDonough

TheHidden.jpgRemember The Hidden? An eighties science fiction horror about an alien who possesses peoples bodies and uses them to go absolutely wild and wreak havoc on the streets? If you still haven't clicked it starred Kyle MacLachlan and Claudia Christian, oh and boy did it ever star her!

Well the news is that this is getting a remake treatment too, although this is a lot friendlier with ideas being taken from the original but a whole new story has been written from it.

Right now the film is called The Seed and the story is about a killer who returns from the past forcing a young detective to return to a case that ended up killing her mother years before.

The story from Moviehole tells us that already Radha Mitchell and Neal McDonough are signed to star, both talented actors and McDonough being a superb onscreen presence. I presume he will play the killer, which will lend a lot of weight to the role, boy he's great at morally ambiguous characters or just plain evil ones!

I'm quite interested to see how this goes, and at the same time I'm quite keen to go and catch the original. Do you remember it?

Oi! Truly they will remake anything and everything these days. The Hidden is a minor 80s genre classic (See also Night of the Creeps, and Night of the Comet) that carries a fair bit of nostalgia for me (along with those other two titles)

The words "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" which I saw on an Italian movie poster, are perhaps the briefest statement imaginable on the basic appeal of the movies.
