The Valet (La Doublure) trailer with Scott Thomas and Auteuil

KirstenScottThomas.jpgA couple of things caught me about the trailer for The Valet (La Doublure) straight off. One is that the stunning Kirsten Scott Thomas is speaking fluent French, something I already knew she could but had never heard her, that Daniel Auteuil is in the film, and that it actually looks quite amusing.

I recently saw Auteuil in Caché and before that in the stunning 36 Quai des Orfèvres (Filmstalker review) (see it before the possibly disasterous Clooney and De Niro remake). He was excellent in both films, and I'd be really keen to see him in a comedy.

Thomas just looks stunning in everything she's in, and I've had a mad crush on her since Four Weddings and a Funeral, and judging by this film it looks set to continue.

Interestingly the film was released in 2006 and is already being remade, although details are sketchy at the moment.

Honestly though, watch the trailer [QT:L:HD], although it isn't hilarious it does show that it has a lot to offer.

The story is about a billionaire (Auteuil) who is sneaking behind his wife's back (Thomas) with a supermodel played by Alice Taglioni and is accidentally caught on camera with her. His wife sees the photo but he palms it off on the Valet who is also pictured with them, and then he pays the Valet to go out with the Supermodel and create a cover for the press and his wife. However it looks like the model begins to start liking the guy, who's ex girlfriend is getting more and more jealous!
