Anderson hasn't left Castlevania

PaulWSAnderson.jpgOkay, I don't know what's going on but the latest turn in the Castlevania story is that Paul W.S. Anderson is back on the film and that he's very much involved in the film and always has been.

Apparently what happened was that because he was confirmed for making Death Race 3000 next it was assumed that this meant Castlevania was off, and then came the shouting that he was off the film. Well he's saying he's not.

"Both Death Race and Castlevania are set up at Universal...The studio wants to make both films, but obviously there is a scheduling conflict which we are trying to resolve. I am very passionate about Castlevania and whatever happens I will remain actively involved in my role as writer and producer."

You can see where this assumption could have been made in the rumour. Still, either way I'm unchanged. The games an old school no frills game without much of a story, so how is that going to be wildly exciting? I just don't get it. It's like adapting a bad book that really doesn't have much happening other than a two line plot.

Get this though, it get's even worse as Anderson describes the film at Variety through UK IGN...

"You could almost call this movie Dracula Begins"

Mmm...I don't know what to make of that. Let's not even get me started on the thought of a Death Race remake\sequel.
