Another Sunshine trailer online

Sunshine.jpgAnother Sunshine trailer has made it online, and although this one seems to have much of the footage the previous does, there's a few more shots and lines to take us further into the story.

I have to say that my anticipation for this film has gone through the roof with the release of the past few trailers, especially when we started to hear the crew speak amongst the action. Danny Boyle looks like he's created a superb science fiction film, and from all accounts he's pulled it off.

You can see the trailer right here, and tell us what you think of it. I'm excited as excited can be, and I really hope he does give us something uniquely different.

Update: There's a nice clip of Michelle Yeoh talking about the film too, wow, she is gorgeous.

The film looks good and Michelle Yeoh being in it can't be bad either!

Count me in!

I went to a preview screening of this tonight, and came away slightly disappointed. The visuals are stunning, the set designs fantastic, the CGI work flawless, the sound and music superbly matched. And yet... Boyle hasn't added anything new to the genre.

In a Q&A session after the film he talked about being influenced by great films like "2001", "Alien" and "Solaris" and those influences are all far too obvious. The whole thing felt like nothing so much as a slightly updated remake of "2001", with the thin narrative moving at a positivley glacial pace. "More NASA than Star Wars" is how Boyle described it, which I guess is a fair description.

It definitely needs to be seen on the big screen rather than at home on DVD, but from the director of such diverse films as "The Beach", "28 Days Later", "Trainspotting" and "Millions" I'd expected something a bit more original.

too bad that trailer doesn't have the kick ass requiem for a dream music like the previous trailers did.
