Dallas Howard replaces Lohan in Teardrop Diamond
Oh dear, poor Lindsay Lohan isn't having a great time of late, and it seems to be getting worse as her attempts to build up her film career take another step backward with news that Bryce Dallas Howard is in negotiations to replace her in The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond, the Tennessee Williams story, and it wasn't that long ago that we had the story she was signed for the film.
She would have been appearing alongside the excellent David Strathairn in what could have been an excellent opportunity, but it seems that for some reason she's being replaced. Also set to star are Chris Evans and Ellen Burstyn.
The story comes from Production Weekly through Rope of Silicon.
Here's what IMDB carries about the story:
Tells the story of Fisher Willow (Lohan), the disliked 1920s Memphis débutante daughter of a plantation owner with a distaste for narrow-minded people and a penchant for shocking and insulting those around her. After returning from studies overseas, Fisher falls in love with Jimmy (Evans), the down-and-out son of an alcoholic father (Strathairn) and an insane mother who works at a store on her family's plantation. She tries to pass him off as an upper-class suitor to appease the spinster aunt (Ann-Margret) who controls her family's fortune, but when she loses a diamond, it places their tenuous relationship in further jeopardy.
I think the tables are definitely turning on Lohan's career, and if she can't get things sorted out and get back on screen she'll either be back to Herbie films or out of Hollywood all together.
