Eastwood to direct Jolie in Straczynski's Changeling
The Changeling (Filmstalker review) is perhaps one of the most effective and creepy horror films I've ever seen, and I was horrified to hear it was getting a remake, thankfully it's not and the films are similar in title only, this The Changeling is set to be directed by Clint Eastwood and lead with Angelina Jolie.
The plot is expected to go something like this:
Jolie would play a woman whose son is abducted but retrieved; she suspects, however, that the returned child is not her kid. The woman must then confront corruption in the LAPD. The story is based on true events in 1920s Los Angeles.
So it's good news from Variety through Coming Soon.
Thankfully Ron Howard is not directing, as per a previous rumour, just producing along with Brian Grazer. J. Michael Straczynski has written the story, Eastwood is directing and Jolie is going to bring her acting talent alongside that of Eastwood's superb direction. I think we're in for a winner here.
