Naomi Watts turns to comedy
Naomi Watts is looking at her career in a new light as she signs to star in the adaptation of the novel Kicked, Bitten and Scratched: Life and Lessons at the World's Premiere School for Exotic Animal Trainers. Yes, that really is the title.
Variety through Coming Soon has the news that Todd Louiso and Jacob Koskoff are writing the adaptation which tells the story of the author Amy Sutherland who spent a year with students at the Exotic Animal Training and Management Program at Moorpark College, where students learn how to communicate with animals such as camels, emus, baboons, cougars, wolves and snakes.
It certainly has scope for comedy, but you have to wonder where Watts is headed after being in Michael Haneke's Funny Games and David Cronenberg's Eastern Promises. I'm surprised she's opted for comedy, but then perhaps that's something she wants to try in her career.
