Paul W.S. Anderson leaves Castlevania?
Has Paul W.S. Anderson left Castlevania, and does anyone really care? Also are the figures for the Casino Royale Blu-Ray DVD articificially inflated?
The rumour out there now is that Paul W.S. Anderson is no longer on the Castlevania project. He's not writing or directing the film according to the report from Dread Central through Coming Soon. According to the report he's going to be concentrating all his efforts on the Death Race 2000 remake and update, Death Race 3000.
Castlevania is the US$50 million film version of the videogame that I didn't really think was that big in the videogame world...apparently I was wrong...or perhaps I wasn't and it's just an insane idea.
Here's an interesting fact, Sony Pictures are saying that Casino Royale on Blu-Ray DVD has reached the 100,000 sales figure, and that's after being released on March the 13th. The report also says that since the release of the Playstation 3 Blu-Ray title sales have risen. The story from Superhero Hype sounds superb, and I'm very excited for them. To be honest I wouldn't expect less from the Casino Royale DVD and I'll probably get myself a copy...yet I won't have to pay for it.
This is where I'm a bit confused. So Sony are saying that they've shipped all these copies and that the closest DVD release to this was Air Force One which took eleven months to reach that same figure, but what the report doesn't say is that if you have a Playstation 3 you can sign up for free for an online gaming account and receive your free copy of Casino Royale on Blu-Ray DVD. Yeah, that'll help sales somewhat.
