Stalked: Babylon A.D. delays and Buscemi continues Van Gogh work
Steve Buscemi's Interview is picked up and Vin Diesel's Babylon A.D. resumes after two weeks on hold.
Sony Classics has picked up the rights to the film Interview written and directed by Steve Buscemi. The film is a remake of the film by the murdered filmmaker Theo Van Gogh. The film stars the upcoming Sienna Miller as a young soap actress who Buscemi, as the journalist with the fading career who is assigned to interview. The news comes from Variety and tell us that the film is set for Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Scandinavia, Switzerland, Benelux and Austria.
Babylon A.D., the film by Mathieu Kassovitz starring Vin Diesel, Michelle Yeoh, Gérard Depardieu, Mark Strong and Charlotte Rampling has halted production over the past two weeks to sort out various problems including location issues, weather and sets.
Over at Variety they have the producer Ilan Goldman saying that all is okay and this is common with any big budget film. However it is believed that the delay will cost a fair amount of cash.
The film is based on the novel by Maurice Dantec Babylon Babies which tells the story of a mercenary hired to escort a woman who has been genetically tampered with and is carrying an embryo that could destroy all human life.
