Laura Dern has been talking about Jurassic Park IV and revealed that it is on and that Sam Neill doesn't look like he's going to be coming back.

In the interview she says that she hasn't been called yet but she knows it's happening and that she is going to be called for it. Here's what she had to say:

A: I’m told its happening and I’m told they’re calling me. I’m told that Ellie Sattler is involved in it.

Q: Are you interested in going back?
A: Well a certain fellow is the one that called me and it’s hard to say no to him cause he’s always got something totally genius up his sleeve so we’ll see what they have in mind. But I don’t know anything about it at this point.

Great news, and she says they are looking at a 2008 release date, although I think that might be tight if they're trying anything new in the effects department, more of the same and I'm sure that wouldn't be a problem. After all they haven't even cast yet.

She also spoke about Sam Neill and the possibility if he could be returning.

Actually I just oddly talked to Sam Neil shortly before I arrived here. But we didn’t speak about that. It’s always an awkward thing because sometimes one person is in it and another person isn’t and who knows who is going to do it or not do it. So it’s the unspoken dinosaur date.

Well this does give weight to a lot of the rumours that are going around about this sequel and that Steven Spielberg has a great idea to restart the franchise. I just wonder if it's the idea that was in that leaked script from a while back.
