DiCaprio to join Ridley Scott's CIA tale?

LeonardoDiCaprio.jpgLeonardo DiCaprio is in talks to star in the Ridley Scott directed and William Monohan written, adaptation of the novel Body of Lies from David Ignatius.

The novel tells the story of an ex-journalist who has become a CIA agent. He is sent to Amman to work with Jordan's Head of Intelligence (that's Jordan the country, not the model!) to track down an Al Qaeda leader who has been rumoured to be planning attacks against America.

Monohan just wrote The Departed (Filmstalker review), and teaming him up with Scott sounds a superb idea. He's already working with him on Blood Meridian where he has adapted the Cormac McCarthy novel.

According to the news in Variety DiCaprio is still negotiating the deal but has made space in his schedule for it while Scott is scouting locations in Morocco.
