Harlin's new and original Brodie's Law
Renny Harlin's latest film sounds really interesting, honestly. Brodie's Law sees a man who injects himself with a chemical that allows him to absorb and take over DNA, in other words to become other people.
Jack Brodie, a prison-hardened thief with a short temper and a bad attitude, hopes that a corporate espionage gig will be his ticket to a better life...The heist goes awry, but Brodie escapes with a secret project: the chemical formula PM13.Brodie discovers that the heist was a setup; his wife has been killed and his son kidnapped. Fueled by revenge...He infects himself with the formula, gaining the ability to absorb human DNA and take on the physical form and mind of whoever he touches.
In his desperate search for answers, Brodie becomes the very man who killed his wife and then a sultry dominatrix who lusts after the local crime boss.v Before losing his own identity to these transformations, Brodie must confront the man behind this elaborate plot, rescue his son and save his own sanity.
The plot comes through Moviesonline. Sounds like a great idea, and thinking of it already you can just see some great effects as well as some interesting plot questions being asked, the main one having been mentioned above - if he merges with someone else do their personalities fight over one another, or do they begin to merge into someone new?
These aspects sound like they might be very difficult to film and get right, and Renny Harlin has had his fair share of downs in his career, perhaps an up is due? At least it's an original plot. I really enjoyed Cliffhanger, The Long Kiss Goodnight, and for the most part Deep Blue Sea. I wonder if he can tap into those for Brodie's Law?
