Harry Potter actors say they wouldn't leave
The Harry Potter trio have come out and made press statements about how keen they are on completing the series, although the announcements are a bit late in the day, it seems they are there to try and appease all the press speculation that's been going on.
Here's what Daniel Radcliffe had to say:
"Playing the role of Harry Potter has been an immense privilege, and I look forward to completing the series. I feel a huge sense of loyalty to the character of Harry and the fans who have supported these films over the years. During filming, I have learnt so much, made lots of friends and met people who have changed my life. I am indebted to J K Rowling, Warner Bros. and David Heyman for giving me this fantastic opportunity."
The other stars commented as well, and you can see their statements here. It all seems incredibly lovely and twee, almost like one of the early stories itself. The fact is that Emma Watson held out for a long time before signing, and that could well have been for more cash, and Radcliffe himself was holding back for a while too.
Then there's the statement from the considerably richer Watson and the no doubt kicking himself Rupert Grint:
Watson: "I could never let Hermione go--she is my hero! I love her too much and love what playing her has meant to me. I am excited and honoured to be finishing what I started and playing her in all seven of the films."Grint: "Ron Weasley has become a big part of my life and not just because we've both got ginger hair! I've been so proud to play him and loved every second of being part of this world. I'm really looking forward to filming the last two films and being back with my 'Weasley family' and, of course, to seeing my good friends Emma and Dan. Thank you to everyone for being so supportive over the years; we couldn't have done it without you."
Whatever the reason and the spin put on it they are now back on the films and they're all staying until the very end, however that turns out.
You can see the statements, including those of the Warner Brothers President and one of the Producers over at MoviesOnline.
It's all behind us now isn't it? There's no need for the statements now that we know they are all onboard, and according to them they were never going to leave...
