Les Témoins (The Witnesses) gains US distribution deal

LesTémoins.jpgLes Témoins (The Witnesses) has just had its U.S. distribution rights bought by Strand Releasing who will premiere it in North America come June the 14th.

The film is set in Paris in 1984 and focuses on a group of friends and lovers who have to deal with the outbreak of the AIDS epidemic on a very personal level.

It was nominated for a Golden Bear Award at the 2007 Berlin International Film Festival and stars Michael Blanc, Emmanuelle Béart, Sami Bouajila, Julie Depardieu, and more.

The Hollywood Reporter have the news that it will be shown as the opening night film at the 31st San Francisco International LGBT Film Festival.

It sounds an interesting story, and with a Golden Bear nomination under its belt you can imagine it deserves a bigger audience than it has seen so far.
