Until now I had no idea what Slugging was all about, and so the Open Plan Films web series Slug was pretty well lost on me.

It's a ride sharing scheme with a few basic rules where people who want a ride stand in a queue at designated points while cars queue and announce where they are going and who they are willing to take. Sounds like a bit of a lottery, but you can see how an entire community could grow out of it.

Now the company who created Eve of Understanding (Filmstalker review) are producing a web series called Slug which looks into the lives of these sluggers (would that be right?) in a comic way.

The first three episodes are already online, and over on the Slug YouTube Playlist, they vary from just under two minutes to just under three, so they are pretty short. I've also linked the first three episodes right here.

Although it's not really my cup of coffee I'm sure there are many out there who know more about the slugging lifestyle and associate with it more. You can see the style developing with the episodes, and as I've learned more about it (between episode two and three) I've started to get into it a little more.
