Stalked: Ricci in Speed Racer and Fishburne is Galactus?

ChristinaRicci.jpgTwo quick pieces of casting news. Christina Ricci is on Speed Racer and is the voice of Galactus Laurence Fishburne?

Christina Ricci has been signed for the live action Speed Racer film to be shot by the Wachowski Brothers (they need a joint IMDB listing you know!) according to The Hollywood Reporter. We know that Emile Hirsch, Susan Sarandon and John Goodman (if he stays attached) are already onboard, and Ricci is joining them as the girlfriend of Speed, Trixie.

It's a bit mainstream for Ricci these days, but perhaps she just sees the opportunity to make some money for her smaller projects to get made. Or as she says in her interview which is shown right here, perhaps it's the Wachowski's that persuaded her. After listening to her I doubt it's the Racer story.

AICN have the rumour that the audio heavyweight Laurence Fishburne is set to be the voice of Galactus in the Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. That's the rumour anyway, and to me it seems perfect. Add some planet quaking voice effects and you've got a giant, planet eating character on your hands. Fishburne certainly has the voice for the character. We just have to hope the film doesn't drag the chances of a solo film for Galactus and the Surfer down the tubes.

Wow. Ricci in "Speedracer" is awesome. This project looks better with ever passing week!

As for Fishburne as Galactus....wouldn't surprise me. He's been doing a lot of voice overs and narration of late.
