Here's a cool trailer for an animated version of the story that sees Superman die, Superman: Doomsday.

The film is adapted from the Death and Return of Superman series in DC Comics, I guess they had to label it with that title in case people thought that he wasn't really coming back and got upset. However it does kind of destroy a big twist doesn't it?

Anyway, Adam Baldwin is playing Kent/Superman with James Marsters playing Lex Luthor, so you can see why Joss Whedon was carrying the link on his site. Anne Heche also joins in as the voice of Lois Lane.

You can see the trailer over the page, and it looks pretty good, if not for the cheesy lines of voice over man. I've never read the that series but it sounds like it could be a strong story. Still, I'm holding out for a Batman vs Superman...it might still happen.
