Baader-Meinhof Complex gets strong German cast
The Baader-Meinhof group were a group of young people who killed 47 people, wounded 93, took 162 hostages and robbed 35 banks during the 1970's in an attempt to overthrow the German political system, and there's a huge cast German film coming to tell their story.
The film is based on the Stefan Aust book called The Baader-Meinhof Group: The Inside Story of a Phenomenon, and is to be directed by Uli Edel and according to the Variety story there's a fair German cast joining already.
"Bruno Ganz, Alexandra Maria Lara, Karoline Herfurth and Hannah Herzsprung...Moritz Bleibtreu...Martina Gedeck..."
That's a strong list of actors in The Baader-Meinhof Complex, and one of my favourites (although I don't profess to knowing many German actors) of Moritz Bleibtreu. I can't say I know too much about this group either, although there does sound like there's going to be plenty of material here for a big story, and an intense one at that.
