Dushku in The Alphabet Killer

ElizaDushku.jpgEliza Dushku is returning to the big screen to appear in a film called The Alphabet Killer directed by Rob Schmidt and based on real life murders in New York in the early 1970's.

It does sound a little like another Zodiac film, as this also looks at the investigative team. Eliza Dushku will play the Police investigator who was assigned to the headline case. Dushku says of the film:

"It mixes in true events about a young detective who actually developed adult-onset schizophrenia while she opened up this case...There might be some controversy, but who knows."

The story over at MTV Movies Blog says that the The Alphabet Killer will be seen in Autumn/Fall of 2007.

The film also stars Cary Elwes, Timothy Hutton and Michael Ironside.

The murders still remain unsolved and despite the fact that it is a true story, separate from that of the Zodiac true events, it still sounds a hell of a lot like Hollywood leaping on an idea and grabbing other similar sounding stories. They'll have to try and make this look and feel a lot different to David Fincher's upcoming film.

Wasn't there an Alphabet case in one of the Beverly Hills Cop Films, or am I just imagining it?

Hubba hubba. I'll see anything with Dushku. I met her once and she was really nice and let me wrap my arms around her for a picture.

Oh yeah... Ironside is one of my favorite character actors of all time. I'll see this. Zodiac was REALLY good, so this won't come close, but still... it's Eliza Dush-cute.

Glad to see Eliza hasn't completely dropped out of the picture. I like movies involving real life murders, so if it looks good from the trailer I might take a trip to the theater.

The fact that Michael Ironside is going to be in it is a big plus! A co-worker and I were talking about him the other day and wondering what he was up to.

I actually though Tru Calling was going pretty well, but they cancelled it anyway, they didn't even ask me .. tut
