Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer new footage online

SilverSurfer.jpgAn extended look at the Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, and the clip looks pretty damn good. The Surfer action looks very cool, especially when he absorbs a rocket into his board.

You can see the extended clip right here at the end of the full article. See what you think, and I know that just a small clip is not representative of the entire film, but going by this it looks damn good.

Not only do I have this extended clip, but there's a link to a series of short teasers for quite a bit more footage.

Could we be surprised and find that this sequel is stronger than the first film? I think it might well be, but the overriding factor here is the Surfer.

The clip over at YouTube comes through SuperheroHype.

If you head over to NBC's Heroes official site you can see a video of a whole string of clips. What's interesting about them is the duality. There's the fun and light hearted aspect of the Four, and then the serious and impending doom feelings of the Surfer scenes. These could work well together and balance the film off well.

I admit, this new one does look okay. But only because it can't possibly be any worse than the first one.

Yeah Andrew makes a good point. The first one has set my expectations pretty low. It would be difficult to screw up a franchise that already droppped the ball in the opening chapter.

Difficult, but not impossible.

Give part 3 to Uwe Boll.

Great point, the first film didn't do much for me so it's got much more scope to improve than to slip.

However, is this going to bring the character of Surfer down? Surfer-lite? Still, if it gets him his own film then let's go for it.
