Richard Gere just reminded us all of his class of acting with The Hoax, but from the short blurb about his new film he looks set to turn his back on that.

His next film is about a man who takes in a dog and the two bond so well that their lives are changed forever.

Perhaps the only glimmers of hope are that the story is based on a true one, and it is inspired by a Japanese film called Hachiko monogatari. Other than that it sounds quite tepid.

The news comes from Variety through Latino Review and makes me wonder if Richard Gere just can't get, or pick, the right projects any more.
