Guy Ritchie on another gangster film?
Guy Ritchie has not retired, oh no, it appears that he has his eyes set on writing and directing another gangster film entitled RocknRolla, apparently he's already written the script and it has been signed up.
Details are sketchy so far but Yahoo News has the announcement.
We'll have to wait for more on that one and see where the film is headed, theatrical or DVD. His last film, Revolver, didn't get much of a welcome. That said I did think there was a strong story in there, it was just so badly handled.
Can Guy Ritchie do another gangster film? Do you want to see another one from him after Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch and Revolver?
Update:
Moviehole have some more information from the full Variety story:
...the film tells of a Russian mobster who orchestrates a crooked land deal, putting millions of dollars up for grabs and attracting all of London's criminal underworld. A dangerous crime lord, a sexy accountant, a corrupt politician and a band of petty thieves are among those double-crossing one another. Pic's budget will be under $20 million.
...and they say it's an action comedy. Mmm...
