Iron Man set footage shows real suit
Like all films that have some form of non-human looking character there's the usual discussion of CGI or non-CGI, and it seems to become quite a heated topic. The latest is Iron Man, and with the footage on the Interflabby it seems that there's going to be a real mixture.
The video shows someone, perhaps Robert Downey Jr himself, in a suit that looks damn close to the pictures we've seen, drop in some CGI as Jon Favreau has talked about before, and we have ourselves an Iron Man. He previously said:
"Stan Winston Studios has been unveiling suits for us. Once again, they have exceeded our expectations. Those of you who follow my career know that I am very skeptical about the overuse of CGI. I am happy to report that the film will be a healthy mix of both computer generated and practical effects. My goal is to make the two integrate in a way that they usually do not."
So now we finally get to see it for real over at IESB through CHUD after a passing fan grabbed some shots of the filming on set. Oh I have to laugh at Devin's comments about the IESB "No YouTube" message, he's damn right of course.
Anyway, I think it looks cool, and although you have to sit through some bland and shaky footage for the real clip, it's worth it to see that the suit is going to be real for the most part.
