My Blueberry Nights trailer disappointing

JudeLaw.jpgThere's a trailer online for My Blueberry Nights, the eagerly awaited English language film from Wong Kar Wai and carries with it a stonkingly good cast.

Norah Jones, Jude Law, Natalie Portman, Rachel Weisz, David Strathairn and Tim Roth star in this story about a woman who undertakes a soul searching journey across America and on the way encounters a number of unusual characters, that woman is played by, surprisingly, the singer Norah Jones.

I have to say that seeing the trailer I had high hopes, but it's hardly a trailer, or even a teaser. In fact if it wasn't for the stars in the clip then I'd be wondering why I wasted my time watching it.

The film is showing in Cannes so we'll soon find out that this teaser or trailer is totally deceptive of the finished film. In fact I'm sure it will be much more than this and an excellent film, but I have to say this is far from doing it any justice what so ever. What do you think?

You can see the trailer for My Blueberry Nights over at Allocine [Flash:Embed] through First Showing. Just click through or wait for the adverts to clear.

I was disappointed too. The trailer *looked* great and that was about it.

Don't look now but initial reviews are coming in (Variety and Cinematical have both posted reviews) and the general thought is exactly that: looks good but no substance.

Disappointing indeed. I'm just hoping that maybe they missed the boat but somehow, I doubt it.

Nice. I don't know guys, I think this is a total teaser that makes me wanna see it. Admittedly, only because I know it's WKW though.

It's definitely his style, though it just seems weird with English speaking people in the shot. I do question putting Norah Jones in here. She has no acting in her past that I can see.

Still, I don't think WKW is stupid and I'm sure she'll be fine. Maybe even a break-out role. I'll check the reviews myself and see. I'll stop ranting. The moral of my story, I can't wait to see this.
