Paxton to direct JFK film
Bill Paxton is being reported as saying that his dream project is a film about the assassination of John F. Kennedy, a story that has already been told in great depth.
In a recent interview he said:
...my dream project is to make a movie about the assassination of President John Fitzgerald Kennedy. That’s a five-year project, and I’m in the early stages of getting that together.
Wow, that is a film that has been done and done again. I wonder what new angle he could bring to the story? Even just counting Oliver Stone's JFK alone, just about everything there is to say has been said on it. Perhaps there is something different to be had from it?
The story comes from a great Moviehole interview with the man through CinemaBlend.
I'm a big fan of Bill Paxton on screen, although I do wish he would get killed less! I've never really caught his directing efforts though. Fish Heads, Frailty and The Greatest Game Ever Played have been the two features to date, although in the interview he talks about Shoedog, an adaptation of the crime novel by George Pelecanos which sounds interesting.
Still, I'm intrigued to find out more about this Kennedy project, and what the angle will be. Is there appetite for more from this ultimate conspiracy story?
