Sienna Miller joins Bean, Bening and Wilde
Sienna Miller is on a film rampage at the moment. She seems to be starring in film after film, and not rubbish ones either. Now she has signed up for a film called A Woman of No Importance, an adaptation of the Oscar Wilde story, and will be starring next to Sean Bean and Annette Bening. It's a far cry from appearing briefly in her underwear for Layer Cake (Filmstalker review).
Bruce Beresford is the man at the helm of this adaptation according to The Hollywood Reporter. Set in England it tells the story of a nineteen year old American woman, played by Sienna Miller, who falls in love with the womanising Lord Illingworth, played by Sean Bean, until his interfering mother, played by Annette Bening, breaks up his plans to seduce her.
Miller is certainly rising in her acting prowess, and with Bening onboard we're set for some strong and fiery scenes. Interestingly Miller seems to have replaced Jessica Biel who was previously associated with the role.
I'm also delighted that Bean is getting a role where he's not the hardened action villain playing second fiddle to the smooth, always winning lead. Something he seemed to be doing too much of for a while. I can't say it enough, give that man more leads.
