Tim Roth is Abomination in The Incredible Hulk!
Tim Roth becomes the latest big name to join The Incredible Hulk, which leaves me wondering how such great actors are heading towards this film when the first wasn't so well received. There must be something in it, after all they've read the script and we haven't.
Tim Roth is actually in negotiations to play the villain Abomination, although we've heard from Zak Penn that he won't be called that in the film as they think it's a bit daft sounding on screen.
According to The Hollywood Reporter Roth plays a vicious mercenary who undergoes the same accident as Bruce Banner did which made him the Hulk, this time Roth becomes a creature much stronger and more vicious than Hulk.
It's interesting casting, especially since there's not really been a big budget mainstream film in Roth's career for some time. He seems to prefer the independent more character based roles, and his continuing busy schedule reflects that. In fact although he's doing some bigger films, the last Hollywood blockbuster comparison in his career might be Planet of the Apes back in 2001, and that had a fair independent feel to the script and direction as it was.
There's no denying that Louis Leterrier now has a superb cast at his disposal, and with Penn's script the question will be can he take these strong materials and produce something big but also quite special for The Incredible Hulk?
