Bana's Iranian terrorist film

EricBana.jpgEric Bana and Lorenzo di Bonaventura are producing a film set in Dubai about terrorism, although this one sounds a little different to the likes of The Kingdom.

The plot for the sepculative script that has been bought from writer Adam Cozad, is about an American economist who is pulled into a highly coordinated international attack on the U.S. economy. It sounds interesting, and perhaps less action and more thriller.

The story from The Hollywood Reporter tells us that this is a passion project for Eric Bana.

Variety also has the story and tells us a little more. The blurb there tells us that he is set up by Iranian operatives in Dubai - interesting that they are going to be Iranian. They then use him to instigate events that will cause a collapse of the U.S. economy. He then goes on the run to try and prove his innocence.

It's highly relevant and hits the political mindset of America just now, so I'm sure this is going to get a strong director and move forward quite quickly.
