Burton walks out on Carrey?
According to reports Tim Burton has walked away from Ripley's Believe It or Not. Well that's another in a long line of delays for the project, and it is perhaps the most serious sign to date.
That means that the project is looking for another Director, and Jim Carrey is left on another project that's going nowhere fast according to the Coming Soon story.
The film tells the story of one of Robert Ripley's travels in search of a lost tribe as he battles evil forces in search of the source of the mystery. In real life Robert Ripley was the man who travelled the world collecting fascinating and strange facts and used them for cartoons and articles, Ripley's Believe It or Not.
It doesn't really sound like a great project to me, perhaps I'm just a little uneducated on how ingrained this is in American culture, but I don't see anything of great interest or of any originality in the story.
Perhaps Tim Burton leaving is a sign that maybe the project just won't, or shouldn't, get made and that Jim Carrey should move onto better things?
