Daniel Craig as Steve McQueen?

SteveMcQueen.jpgThere's an interesting statement come out from the last wife of Steve McQueen on who she would love to play the actor if there was ever a biographical film of his life, and the name is a corker, Daniel Craig.

Now let's get this clear right up front, right now there is no film of his life, although that doesn't mean there shouldn't be. Steve McQueen is one of the most iconic actors of cinema and he's starred in some classic cinema. Plus he had an incredible life to boot, and he has a huge unrealised film project just sitting out there with the possibility of making it to the screen well after his death.

Now add all that together and you would think that there should well be a a film about his life, after all there have been numerous books written about him. Just think of all those films he's appeared in though, The Towering Inferno, Papillion, Le Mans, Bullit, The Thomas Crown Affair, The Great Escape, The Great Escape, The Magnificent Seven, The Blob...okay I'm stopping.

The story from Azcentral through Cinematical Barbara McQueen Brunsvold says that Daniel Craig is the only actor around that could play him.

"I think Daniel would be the best one to play Steve. He's kind of got that swagger, the good looks - if I wasn't married I'd date him."

I actually think that a biographical film of McQueen would be superb, and I can't think of anyone better to play him than Daniel Craig, can you? If you had to cast someone as McQueen, can you seriously think of a better choice?
