Frost/Nixon gains Kevin Bacon
Kevin Bacon has been announced as signing up to the Frost/Nixon film, the adaptation of the play that tells the story of David Frost interviewing President Richard Nixon over a three day period and having him apologise to the American public for Watergate.
Without too much surprise both Frank Langella and Michael Sheen are reprising their roles from the stage version. We also heard that Sam Rockwell, Toby Jones and Matthew Macfadyen have also signed on.
According to Yahoo Movies Kevin Bacon is set to play Nixon's Chief of Staff Jack Brennan in the Ron Howard directed film, and adds to a growing cast of great acting talent. I'm starting to think that this could be a strong film from Howard, especially with news that one of my favourite actors, Bacon, has signed on.
I do wonder how much of the outside events the film will show. Having not seen the stage play I have no idea how many times the story weaves in and out of the interviews, so for me this could be the only stumbling block now.
