Jigsaw talks Saw IV return

TobinBell.jpgTobin Bell has been talking about Saw IV and teasing at what form his involvement would take in the new film, and a little reveal about some new characters.

There's nothing hugely story breaking about this, he's not revealing all about the continuation of the Jigsaw character in Saw IV, but what he says is giving an interesting tease and easily starts the mind ticking.

Over at Bloody Disgusting Tobin Bell said the following in response to direct questions on the fourth installment:

"Viewers will find out in very first scene of film... how I'm still in it” he tells B-D, “I like how I'm involved...

...There's a guy in this film we've never met before... one of the disenfranchised of the world...Jigsaw comes into contact with this guy [and he’s] the total opposites of Jigsaw. Many people talk a good game. Right or wrong he steps forward and does what he (Jigsaw) does...This guy he runs into... he’s one of the lost of the world, Jigsaw is extremely educated, and the other guy hasn't had anything…. There is an Interesting dialogue between the two."

Apparently, although I missed that story, Bloody Disgusting say that the director Darren Lynn Bousman has already revealed that Jigsaw will return physically in the film, in other words he won't just be a voice or on a television screen throughout.

Now combine that with the previous news that this is a direct continuation, so that cuts out any prequel ideas, and we have ourselves an interesting point for speculation.

For those of you who haven't seen Saw III (Filmstalker review), you might want to turn away now for fear of reading about the ending of the last film...

Just quickly thinking of the possibilities there's only two things I can see as possibilities for Jigsaw in this film, flashbacks or his death was a setup either faked or it wasn't actually he who died.

Now those are just thoughts straight off the top of my head, you might be able to come up with better ones, but the question is how does Jigsaw physically return in the next film if we've seen him die in the last one? Any suggestions?

Interestingly, when Bell was describing the last character he was saying that Jigsaw will be in constant dialogue with this character throughout the film. Is that just through the tapes? If so then how does he physically appear as Bousman has said?

Bell also pointed out that the script was radically altered during shooting, and that there were bizarre and last minute ways of developing the script.

Surely even if you're not a big fan of the Saw franchise this is interesting you? I'm really intrigued to see how they bring him back because I don't think it'll be done in a cheap fashion.

Maybe he's a ghost? Like Obi-Wan Kenobi :-P
