Pacino and De Niro film gets release

RobertDeNiro.jpgFinally I have a chance to see Heat that shows the great pairing of Robert De Niro and Al Pacino as I've been given the DVD. Recently we heard that they were teaming up again for another film and this time they are going to be onscreen together for most of it. Now it's set to get a North American release.

Overture Films have just bought the rights to Righteous Kill that will see Robert De Niro and Al Pacino team up as detectives who are searching for a serial killer. VarietyVariety has the story.

You know much as these two actors are huge, I have to say that my excitement for the idea is much, much less than it would have been ten years ago. I feel that both actors have struggled to hold onto their former glory, De Niro much moreso than Pacino.

Pacino has taken to the stage and produced some diverse projects of which he should be very proud. De Niro however has taken to that realm of slapstick and bodily function kind of comedy that really hasn't done anything for his career. Saying that, he has produced The Good Shepherd, which was a very good film, and that has shown that the magic is still there.

There are a lot more films on both their slates that could promise more, and I hope that this is a rise back to the top for both their onscreen acting and performances, De Niro in particular.

I am looking forward to this team up. I was already blown away in Heat, but to me these two great actors will always be a delight to watch.
