Stalked: Jackson in Iron Man and Murphy in Dark Knight
A couple of superhero casting titbits. First there's a returning character to the Batman universe in The Dark Knight that we'd heard rumours of but now this seems like confirmation, and there's a new character in Iron Man that seems to be lining up for one of the big ensemble superhero films.
Superhero Hype has the story that Cillian Murphy is returning to The Dark Knight as Scarecrow. Over on the report they have spoiler information galore and some photos and a rather pathetic set video in which you can see dark figures from quite a distance. Not exciting.
AICN has the news that Samuel L. Jackson is set to appear in Iron Man as Nick Fury. Now the speculation is that this is either leading up to the Avengers film, or indeed Nick Fury's own adventure which Andrew Marlowe has been hired to write. Both stories comes through Rope of Silicon.
Nick Fury is the super spy character who was the lead of S.H.I.E.L.D. Interestingly in the Ultimate Marvel Universe version of Fury the facial characteristics of the character were modelled on Samuel L. Jackson with hs written consent - according to Wikipedia that is.
I'm really interested in the Jackson casting, I think that the character could be an interesting one with Jackson's style in there. However how long is it going to be before we see the Avengers or Fury films come to filming, and how old will Jackson be then?
