Stalked: Smart Mirrors, Ruffalo Blindness and Porter Speed Racer
Amy Smart has joined the horror Mirrors alongside Keifer Sutherland, Mark Ruffalo joins Julianne Moore on the unusual Blindness film, and Scott Porter has signed up for Speed Racer, playing a role that will give away a huge spoiler for the comic series.
Amy Smart has joined the remake of Mirrors being helmed by Alexandre Aja, the talent behind Haute Tension aka Switchblade Romance (Filmstalker review) and The Hills Have Eyes (Filmstalker review). According to Bloody Disgusting she'll be joining the already strong cast:
Kiefer Sutherland and Paula Patton...Cameron Boyce, Erica Gluck, Mary Beth Peil, John Shrapnel, Jason Flemyng, Tim Ahern, Julian Glover, Josh Cole, Ezra Buzzington, Ioana Abur, Bart Sidles and Roz McCutcheon.
Sutherland plays a night security guard at a department store where he's investigating strange deaths which seem related to the mirrors in the store.
Mark Ruffalo has joined Blindness with Julianne Moore in Director Fernando Meirelles' film about an outbreak of blindness that hits everyone apart from Moore who plays the wife of a Doctor, the Doctor being Ruffalo. She hides her ability to see in order to stay and help people cope. The story is from Variety.
Scott Porter has signed up to the Speed Racer film to play Rex Racer. This gives away a huge spoiler for the comic series in that he plays a character who is revealed to be as Racer X, the character to be played by Matthew Fox in the film. So it does seem as though they are changing the big surprise, which is a good thing in my eyes, going with the same already revealed twist just wouldn't work for existing fans. The news from Variety through Cinema Blend. There's a strong cast on for this already, I'm thinking that Speed Racer might just turn out very well.
