Terence Stamp joins Wanted
Terence Stamp has joined the cast of the comic book adaptation Wanted. He joins James McAvoy, Morgan Freeman and Angelina Jolie.
Wanted (Amazon.co.uk / Amazon.com
) is the story of Wesley Gibson, played by James McAvoy, who is an average joe, well actually he's a bit of a loser. That is until a woman appears one day, kills everyone in the room he's in and takes him away in a high speed car chase...except the police never appear.
That's because she's part of a super-villain group that is controlling the world, and so was his father before he was assassinated. The super-villains banded together in the past to defeat all the superheroes, then they used mind control to rewrite the memories of everyone on the planet, including those superheroes that were left. Now they rule and can do anything they want.
Wesley's Dad was The Killer, one of the best super-villains around, and now Wesley must step up and become like his Father, and in the process find out what happened to him, and whether a world ruled by super-villains is all it's cracked up to be.
The news of the casting of Terence Stamp comes from SuperHero Hype, and if we want to speculate then it's fair to say that Stamp will be one of the head super-villains, after all his career is littered with such parts, perhaps he'll even play Wesley's father.
I really enjoyed this series, despite there being huge areas left unexplored that I really wish had been. It's imaginative and quite unique, and very entertaining. Well worth a read before seeing the film.
