William Hurt joins The Incredible Hulk
The Hulk sequel, The Incredible Hulk, is hurtling onwards with even more big names joining the cast. Now we're hearing that William Hurt has signed up to play General Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross, the father of Betty Ross, played by Liv Tyler, and the man intent on capturing the Hulk/Banner, played by Ed Norton.
With Tim Roth now cast as Emil Blonsky/Abomination, it is clear that this sequel is not going at it half heartedly. I'm actually amazed at how they've managed to secure such a big cast as they have considering how poorly the original Hulk fared.
Genuinely I'm surprised at the news from Reuters through Yahoo News. So now they have Ed Norton, Tim Roth, William Hurt and Liv Tyler on board this comic book film which is a sequel to a poor performer at the box office. To think of those names together on a film like this is very surprising, I don't care how much of a fan you are of Hulk, you could not have imagined those names being involved, especially after the first film.
What this does mean is that Louis Leterrier had better do a good job directing The Incredible Hulk and that this is the last chance for Hulk. I really can't see him making another high brow appearance like this unless it turns out to be a whopping success in the ranks of Superman and Batman.
