J.J. Abrams talks Cloverfield

JJAbrams.jpgYet more news on Cloverfield this morning. J.J. Abrams has been speaking about the websites which have popped up recently. It would seem some are not related to the film, but there are more out there which have not been discovered yet.

Abrams sent a note to AICN and here’s the details:

Regarding the online stuff you posted: yeah, we're doing some fun stuff on the web. But, obviously, if the movie doesn't kick some massive ASS, who gives a rat's about what's online? So as you can imagine, we're focusing mostly on THAT. For what it's worth, the only site of ours that people have even FOUND is the 1-18-08.com site. The others (like the Ethan Haas sites) have nothing to do with us.

So there are more websites out there, if you find any let us know.

If those sites don't belong to the film, then what are they about? Especially when you look at the quality of the sites, there's a lot of work gone into them. Perhaps they're for something totally different?

well I for one want despairately to know what this is about.

can't wait to figure out what this is.

You know what the problem with Hollywood is? They make shit. Unbelievable, unremarkable shit' Now I'm not some grungy wannabe filmmaker that's searching for existentialism through a haze of bong smoke or something. No, it's easy to pick apart bad acting, short-sighted directing, and a purely moronic stringing together of words that many of the studios term as prose. No, I'm talking about the lack of realism. Realism; not a pervasive element in today's modern American cinematic vision.
