A quick piece of casting news that really does deserve to have a single slot, and that's the news from Comic-Con that Karen Allen is set to star in the new Indiana Jones film, the fourth and final film that will feature Indiana Jones as we know him.

Karen Allen appeared in Raiders of the Lost Ark as Marion Ravenwood and is set to return in the same role for this film. What's interesting is that this lends more credence to the idea that the plot will be looking back to this first film.

The casting announcement comes through the team at MoviesOnline.

Now that we've seen production art featuring the Ark from the first film atop pyramids and making the connection with Area 51, perhaps this is exactly what's happening. Area 51 could be the place where the artefact was stored at the end of the first film. I first started thinking about this as soon as the first spy shot came out of the display at Comic-Con before the door was even open, you can read that here and here on Filmstalker.

Meanwhile, just as I wrote this, Rafe from Cinema Blend dropped in a couple of new photos from the set of Indiana Jones IV and they both feature Karen Allen. Not just that but there's an excellent group photo with Ray Winstone being hidden in behind Steven Spielberg who stands next to Karen Allen and Harrison Ford, all (except Spielberg) are in full costume.

Now that's nice. The memories are coming back already.
