Sex and the City confirmed with cast
Sex and the City looks like it will be making it to a film version after all as it is announced that New Line is close to signing a deal to finance and distribute the movie.
That means that all the stars are onboard, and it also looks like there's confirmation of that very fact as Variety report that:
Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon are all set to reprise their roles, with longtime exec producer Michael Patrick King directing a script he wrote.
However what's interesting is that the article specifically highlights that names such as Chris Noth have yet to sign up and their involvement are still long running rumours.
Now that is interesting, how could you have a Sex and the City film without Mr Big? I think you could have all the girls in there and manage fine, but for me the central core of the series was always that one relationship with Big.
So it looks like all the ladies have their deals to make them happy, particularly Parker and Cattrall, the latter has reportedly received input on her scenes, a bigger salary and a future series deal with HBO, well done her I say.
In all those rumours of the gorgeous Kim Cattrall causing the first film attempt to be delayed because of her demands to be as well payed as Sarah Jessica Parker, I might actually find myself agreeing with her. In those closing series her character was definitely at the fore, and although she maybe wasn't quite as core in the series as Parker, she was definitely commanding a large portion of it.
Whatever was in the past is now past though, as it looks like all the ladies are back, the deal is almost struck, and a film is most definitely going to happen. Now where's Mr Big?
