Win The Flying Scotsman unique signed poster
I have a very special one off competition prize for any one of the UK Filmstalker readers out there, a full size, New Zealand promotional poster for the film The Flying Scotsman, signed by the Director Douglas Mackinnon.
The Flying Scotsman (Filmstalker review) is the story of Graeme Obree, a man who, while struggling with depression, managed to break record after record in cycling, with a homemade bicycle, fighting a governing body that doesn't want him to succeed. Don't think this is a sports or cycling film though, it's about people, self belief, and how Obree managed to battle all his personal demons with the help of those around him.
It's a great film, and is still around in cinemas in the UK. If you haven't seen it yet then head out this weekend, it'll be a welcome respite from huge robots!
In the meantime, if you want a New Zealand poster just like the one pictured but with Douglas Mackinnon's autograph and message across it, here's how to win one, and when I say one I mean there really is only one like this.
I was sent a couple of New Zealand posters personally by the marketing company over there, and then I took two of them to get autographed by Douglas Mackinnon. One is in my cinema room, and the other is in this competition...it could well be worth something one day!
So here's how to enter. Just answer this exceedingly easy question.
Johnny Lee Miller stars alongside Brian Cox in The Flying Scotsman, which other film have they both starred together in?
Send the answer to firstname.lastname@example.org, and remember this is for UK residents only, and I'll need your name and full postal address...as well as the answer.
Remember if you're stuck, just try searching online...perhaps some well known film database might have the answer...ahem.
As usual, these details go to no one else apart from me and are kept in my private email on my personally locked computer in my own house. The winners details are sent nowhere as I have the prize, so I'll address the envelope myself and pay for the postage too!
Once again, there is only one poster to give away, it's for UK readers only, and the competition closes on the 31st July 2007. Good luck!
