Allen back to comedy with Six Wives
Tim Allen is turning away from his serious role in Redbelt and going back to his safer, middle of the road comedy work with The Six Wives of Henry Lefay starring Elisha Cuthbert, Paz Vega, Andie MacDowell, Kelli Garner and S. Epatha Merkerson. Howard Gould is the Writer and Director on the project, not the Shrek the Third Gould though.
Tim Allen is to play a salesman who is presumed dead after a skydive goes slightly wrong. His daughter, played by Elisha Cuthbert, returns home to arrange his funeral and finds that his six wives (current and five divorcees) are fighting over him.
Sounds utterly fantastic, and probably through it all he'll find out that there was only one wife for him and the rest are...blah...blah...blah.
This news from Variety reminds me that I find it hard to fathom actor's choices sometimes, after being given a great chance in Redbelt from David Mamet, why would you want to go back to something like this? Well, I guess money is one thing, and a safety net is another.
