This is probably one to file under rumour mill but you never know. It seems Tom Cruise may have some kind of role in Tropic Thunder. The film stars Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, Jack Black, Robert Downey Jr and Nick Nolte.

The plot follows a bunch of actors who are filming a big budget war movie in the jungle. Some freak occurrences find them under the impression they are fighting an actual enemy, and they then become the soldiers they are portraying. It's directed and co-written by Justin Theroux, who said when asked about a possible appearance from "The Cruise":

I think so....I don’t know. We’ll see. It may happen. It may not happen.

Yes I know, not exactly a ringing endorsement but all will become clear no doubt. The news comes from MTV Movies Blog, and the word is Cruise will be playing a studio head. I can't say I'm overly excited but it is a decent comedy cast, and I'll admit to being a fan of Stiller's Zoolander. Although that has more to do with my addiction to America's Next Top Model than anything else. You never know it might actually be funny...
